Best Pink PS5 Accessories Worth Buying, and What Actually Fits Your Model!

Illustrated pink PlayStation-style console, controller cover and headset stand

Before anything else: find your model number. It's printed on the underside of the console, it starts with CFI and it decides roughly half of what's on this page.

Sony has quietly stopped making pink. There's one pink DualSense and one set of pink covers, and those covers fit exactly one configuration of one generation. Everything else pink on a PlayStation 5 is third party, which is why compatibility is the real problem here and not taste.

So this is what fits what, in a table, followed by the things actually worth buying.

Find your model number first

It's on the underside of the console when It's stood vertically, sometimes under the base. It starts with CFI and It's the only thing that tells you what fits.

Model groupNumbersCover situation
OriginalCFI-1000, CFI-1100, CFI-1200All three take the same covers. Two panels
SlimCFI-2000, CFI-2100Four panels. Won't take original covers
ProCFI-7000, CFI-7100Its own covers again

The suffix matters too. A means a disc drive and B means Digital Edition, and on the original console those are two different cover products.

Sony's own explanation for the Slim break, given to press when the Slim launched, is that the new faceplates are divided into four sections rather than two and that existing covers won't function with the new hardware. On the Pro, Sony told IGN plainly that PS5 console covers aren't compatible with PS5 Pro.

There's a controller version of this problem too. The DualSense has been revised several times. The original is CFI-ZCT1W and the current one is CFI-ZCT2W, which has a longer battery life and, oddly, one fewer microphone. iFixit's teardown notes that the very first revision has slightly different external shell mouldings, so newer replacement shells sit on it with larger seams. That only matters if you're buying a hard shell rather than a silicone cover.

What Sony still makes in pink, and what it doesn't

One controller and one set of covers. That's the entire official pink range.

Sony's current colour families are HyperPop, Chroma and the core black and white. Pink isn't in any of them. Chroma Pearl is the nearest thing and It's a light iridescent neutral rather than a pink.

What that means practically: if you own a Slim or a Pro and you want pink, Sony has nothing for you and the rest of this page is third party by necessity rather than by preference.

Controller covers and shells

This is the easiest win on the platform and the one with the fewest compatibility traps. A DualSense cover fits every standard DualSense regardless of revision.

The one thing it won't fit is a DualSense Edge, which has a different back, removable stick modules and no room underneath.

PlayVital Pink Controller Skin for PS5, with six thumb grip caps. Best for: somebody who charges on a dock. The listing puts charging dock compatible in the product title, and that's the thing which separates covers in this category rather than marketing filler.

Peziang Pink PS5 Controller Skin, ultra thin, with two thumb grips. Best for: somebody who wants grip without bulk. Thin silicone changes how the controller feels far less than a textured one does.

If you want a hard change rather than a soft one, eXtremeRate makes replacement shells. There are two very different jobs here and the listings don't make it obvious.

The Chrome Pink Glossy trim shell clips on. No disassembly, no screws, no risk. It replaces the decorative strip and the accent rings only.

The Chrome Pink Glossy front shell is a full replacement of the front face, which means taking the controller apart. It also doesn't include the touchpad. This is a modding project rather than an accessory, and I'd not point a first setup at it.

The Cherry Blossoms Pink trim shell is the softer colourway of the clip-on version, and It's the one I'd suggest if chrome isn't the look.

Console skins, by model

A vinyl skin is the only pink route that exists for every model, which is exactly why it matters most here.

The full set is the underrated one. The Psychedelic Pink kit covers the console, the controller, the charging station, a headset and the media remote, which solves a problem I come back to at the end of this page: Sony's white accessories stay white, and white next to pink is a decision you should make deliberately rather than by default.

Console faceplates, and why the Slim is stuck

A faceplate replaces the panel instead of covering it, and on a PlayStation 5 that's a normal user operation. Sony publishes its own instructions, because you have to take the covers off to install an SSD.

Nova Pink face plates for the disc edition and the digital edition version both match Sony's own Nova Pink shade and fit the original console.

There are versions with extra cooling vents cut into them, and another with a vented design. Worth noticing that three of the pink faceplates on the market advertise more airflow rather than less. The sellers are competing on cooling, which is a useful signal about where the actual risk sits.

The one instruction that matters, and It's Sony's own: "If the covers aren't installed correctly, it may cause the main unit to overheat." Seat them properly and let the console cool before you take anything off, because Sony also warns the main unit can still be hot enough to burn straight after use.

Now the bad news. I couldn't find a pink faceplate for the PlayStation 5 Slim from any seller. The Slim plate range exists in blue, black, starlight blue and volcanic red and pink is simply absent. Combined with Sony having no pink Slim cover either, a Slim owner's only pink route is vinyl. That's worth knowing before you spend an evening searching for a plate that doesn't exist.

The accessory that fits every PlayStation ever made

Thumb grip caps. The analogue stick shaft geometry hasn't changed across DualSense, DualShock 4 or the Switch Pro controller, so one product fits everything.

GeekShare Cute Thumb Grip Caps in hearts and flowers, or a PERFECTSIGHT four pack if you want a different shape or a five pair set if you would rather have options. Colour is a variant selection on all three, so check the swatch rather than the title.

This is the accessory I recommend when somebody doesn't know which console is in the room.

While you're getting things off the desk, a stand takes the controller off the surface entirely. A pink three tier controller and headset stand holds six pads and two headsets, and the NBCP pink controller and headset stand is the smaller version.

The charging dock problem

There's no pink PlayStation 5 charging dock. I looked properly and the category is black, white and RGB.

The nearest thing is a dock with six RGB colour modes, which you can set to pink and which is the honest workaround rather than a pink product.

And here's the thing about docks that nobody explains. Sony's own charging station uses a click-in design: the controller seats onto contacts on its underside, not through the USB-C port. Which means a full-coverage silicone cover physically blocks it.

The tell is in the listings. The PlayVital cover puts "charging dock compatible" in the title, and sellers don't put a negative-space claim in a product title unless failure is the category default. If a listing describes itself as full covered, assume it'll not dock.

So: if you charge on a dock, buy the cover that says it works with one. If you charge on a cable, ignore all of this.

What I'd buy first

A controller cover and a set of thumb grips, and nothing else until you have lived with it for a month.

Between them they change the object you actually hold, they cost the least of anything here and neither one can be wrong about your console model. The console itself can wait, because the console is the thing you look at and the controller is the thing you touch.

When you do come back to the console, buy the skin rather than the faceplate unless you own the original PS5, because that's the only model with pink plates available.

And the thing I'd genuinely warn you about. The failure mode here's the reverse of what people expect. The thing that discolours over time is the white PlayStation plastic around it rather than the pink accessory. Sony's white panels and the white DualSense are both well documented as picking up a yellow cast with age and light. A pink cover that matched perfectly in year one can look wrong in year three because the thing next to it moved, not because the pink did. If that bothers you, skinning the console as well as the controller keeps the whole thing on the same timeline.

If you're on the other platform, pink Xbox accessories worth buying is the same treatment for Xbox and the constraints are completely different. For the rest of the desk, the 12 things that actually matter is the buying order and why your pinks stop matching is worth reading before you buy a second pink thing from a different seller.

If you're buying any of this as a present, the price band gift guide has a whole section on why console accessories are the riskiest gift there's. Everything I own is on my faves, the desk is in my setup tour and if you play away from the TV, the seven types of handheld retro console covers what you're choosing between.

Pink PS5 accessory FAQ, the questions I get asked most

Does Sony make a pink PS5?

No. Sony makes a Nova Pink DualSense controller and Nova Pink covers that fit the original Digital Edition only. There's no pink console, and no pink cover for the Slim or the Pro.

Will PS5 covers fit the PS5 Slim?

No. Sony confirmed this directly: the Slim's faceplates are divided into four sections rather than two, and existing covers don't work with it. Slim covers don't fit the Pro either.

How do I know which PS5 model I have?

The model number is printed on the underside of the console and starts with CFI. CFI-1000, 1100 and 1200 are the original. CFI-2000 and 2100 are the Slim. CFI-7000 and 7100 are the Pro. A means disc, B means Digital Edition.

Are there pink faceplates for the PS5 Slim?

I couldn't find any from any seller. Pink plates exist for the original console in both disc and digital versions. For a Slim, a vinyl skin is currently the only pink option.

Will a silicone cover stop my controller charging on a dock?

It can. Sony's charging station connects to contacts on the underside of the controller rather than through the USB-C port, so a full-coverage cover blocks it. Look for a listing that states charging dock compatible.

Do PS5 controller covers fit the DualSense Edge?

No. The Edge has a different back and removable stick modules. Covers made for a standard DualSense won't fit it.

What pink PS5 accessory works no matter what?

Thumb grip caps. The analogue stick shaft is the same across every PlayStation controller and across Xbox and Switch Pro too, so they can't arrive incompatible.

Why does my white PS5 look yellow next to my pink accessories?

Because the white plastic is the thing that has changed. White console plastic and white controllers are both widely reported to pick up a yellow cast over time. The pink has stayed where it was.
